The Edit: This is an honest review of oHHo Energy drinks by Alex. oHHo Energy is distributed by oHHo Functionals in Bedford, New York, and oHHo says the energy line contains no THC and no CBD. We were gifted a 4-pack each of Raspberry and Lemon and Blood Orange and Pomegranate. Each 12 oz can lists 80mg of caffeine from guayusa leaf, 1000mg each of Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps, L-theanine, magnesium glycinate, and 5g of sugar from organic agave. The verdict: a middle ground between sparkling water and a full energy drink, with Raspberry and Lemon as the better flavor. Use code SALTYVAGABONDS20 for 20% off at weareohho.com. Written for coffee drinkers who want a lighter second boost with a short, fully dosed label.

oHHo Energy is a sparkling energy drink in a slim 12 oz can. If you’ve seen a Celsius can, it’s that same thinner shape. I’ve never actually had a Celsius, but that was my first thought when I picked one up.
The can says it’s distributed by oHHo Functionals in Bedford, New York. oHHo calls itself a botanical wellness company. Most of its shop is hemp products, like CBD gummies and THC seltzers.
No. oHHo says its energy line contains no THC and no CBD. That matters because one of its THC seltzers shares a flavor name with this drink. So if you shop the site, make sure the product says “Energy Drink.”
We got one 4-pack of each flavor, so eight cans total. We drank all of them at home on our lanai here on Oahu. Amanda and I both tasted both flavors, but the notes in this review are mine.
This was my honest reservation. The front of the can says 80mg of caffeine. But when I read the ingredient list on the back, I didn’t see caffeine anywhere.
I expected coffee extract or plain caffeine. Instead, the list runs from carbonated water and organic agave to magnesium glycinate, natural flavors, red beet juice, guayusa leaf extract, L-theanine, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and citric acid. For a minute, I wondered if I was drinking flavored water.
Guayusa turned out to be the answer. oHHo describes it as an Amazonian holly leaf with a long history in Ecuador. The brand says all 80mg of caffeine comes from that leaf. Each can lists 400mg of guayusa extract.
It still bugs me a little that caffeine isn’t called out on its own line. You have to know what guayusa is to connect the dots. Now you do, though.
Here’s my funny, honest confession. I start most days with a nine-cup Bialetti Moka pot. So I’m not exactly new to caffeine.
A standard shot of espresso has around 63mg of caffeine, and an 8 oz cup of brewed coffee has about 96mg. So one can of oHHo lands right between the two. It’s not a big energy drink, but it’s not a full cup of coffee either.
For me, oHHo became the drink after the Moka pot. It’s a lighter boost instead of another full round of coffee. I didn’t feel jittery after drinking one, either.
Both give you caffeine, but they come from different plants. Coffee comes from a bean, and guayusa comes from a leaf. Taste is the real difference here, since oHHo is cold, fizzy, and fruity.
Raspberry and Lemon was our favorite of the two. It’s pretty good straight from the can.
It leans more lemon than raspberry. The raspberry is there, but the lemon does most of the talking. Overall, it’s bright and easy to drink cold.
One day I squeezed fresh lime into it. That pushed it toward a lemon lime flavor, and it honestly elevated the whole drink. If you buy this flavor, keep a lime in the fridge.
Blood Orange and Pomegranate is very orangey. I was drinking one while writing this review, so the notes are fresh.
Blood orange leads the whole way. The pomegranate is in there, but it never really shows up in full. Then a little bitterness comes through at the end.
That bitter finish is my main flaw with this flavor. It’s not bad enough to pour out. Still, it’s the reason Raspberry and Lemon won for us.
Once I finally poured them into a glass, both have a slight tint. Raspberry and Lemon runs red from the raspberry juice. Blood Orange and Pomegranate runs more yellow, even with beet juice on the label. Don’t go by the can art, either. The yellow and red can is Raspberry and Lemon, and the all-red can is Blood Orange and Pomegranate.
oHHo prints every active ingredient and dose on the can. I’m sharing these as label facts, not as my own claims.
Each can lists 1000mg of Lion’s Mane extract and 1000mg of Cordyceps extract. It also lists 400mg of guayusa extract, 100mg of L-theanine, and 100mg of magnesium glycinate. oHHo says its mushroom supplier grows every mushroom himself.
Want a smaller dose you can pack? We also reviewed Cured Nutrition Flow, a Lion’s Mane gummy with about half the caffeine of an oHHo can. Read our Cured Nutrition review for the full Flow breakdown.
Lion’s Mane mushroom energy drinks are a growing category, and oHHo is a fruity take on it. If you like drink mixes with a purpose, our Taste Salud review is worth a look, too.
Our can lists 5g of sugar and 35 calories. That’s low for an energy drink, and it was one of the first things I checked.
Five grams is low enough that I wasn’t worried about a sugar crash. Most big energy drinks I’ve seen carry a lot more.
Here’s the surprise. oHHo’s product page shows 0g of added sugar and about 30 calories. Our can lists all 5g as added sugar from organic agave, plus 35 calories. So go by the can in your hand.
I always ask whether something earns a spot in our bags.
Honestly, we only drank these at home on Oahu. We haven’t taken a can to the beach, on a hike, or on a travel day yet. With only eight cans, they went fast.
The slim can is easy to tuck into a cooler or a day bag. Since it’s a canned drink, though, it’s a checked bag or after-security buy, not a carry-on item.
Using the code takes less than a minute. First, copy SALTYVAGABONDS20. Then go to weareohho.com and add your energy drinks to the cart. At checkout, paste the code into the discount box and apply it.

oHHo is for coffee drinkers who want a lighter second boost later in the day. It’s also for anyone who wants every dose printed on the can. If you like fruity sparkling drinks, Raspberry and Lemon is a good place to start.
If you want a big caffeine hit, 80mg might feel too light. If bitter finishes bother you, skip Blood Orange and Pomegranate. And if you avoid added sugar completely, note the 5g of agave.

Each 12 oz can lists 80mg of caffeine. oHHo says it all comes from guayusa leaf extract.
I wondered the same thing. The caffeine comes from the guayusa leaf extract, which is on the list. oHHo just doesn’t break caffeine out as its own ingredient.
No. oHHo says its energy drinks contain no THC and no CBD. Its THC seltzers are a separate product line.
That’s a call for you to make. Our can lists 35 calories, 5g of sugar from organic agave, and 80mg of caffeine. We liked that every dose is printed right on it.
It leans lemon, with raspberry in the background. Adding fresh lime made it even better for us.
A little, at the end. Blood orange leads, and the pomegranate stays faint.
The can is a similar slim shape. I’ve never had a Celsius, so I can’t compare the taste. If you want lower caffeine, oHHo’s 80mg is worth a look.
We’ve only had ours at home on Oahu so far. Because it’s a canned drink, pack it in checked bags or buy it after security for flights.
Yes, I’d probably buy these again. Ours were gifted, but if I had to go out and buy them, I would. To me, oHHo drinks like a nice little seltzer, kind of like a LaCroix. The difference is a little extra oomph from the caffeine and Lion’s Mane.
Before this, energy drinks felt like all or nothing to me. You either went full gas with a big can loaded with caffeine and everything else, or you drank water. oHHo sits right in the middle. It’s not zero, but it’s not full speed ahead either.
With a nine-cup Moka pot habit, I wanted something lighter for the afternoon. oHHo fit that spot, since 80mg is just a little over a shot of espresso, spread across a full 12 oz can. There’s not a lot of sugar, either. Raspberry and Lemon with a squeeze of lime was the can I reached for first. If you want to try it, use code SALTYVAGABONDS20 for 20% off at weareohho.com. And if you’d rather pack a gummy than a can, check out our Cured Nutrition review for our take on Flow.
