GIMME is an Australian jewelry brand, and this is my unboxing of the four pieces they sent.

We’ve traveled full time as a family since 2018, so jewelry has to earn its spot in my bag. It needs to survive packing, humidity and life on the move. This time, it also had to keep up with my 11 year old, who loved hers so much she wore them for a week straight. Right now we’re based on Oahu, where the air is salty and sticky most days. Each piece arrived in a sturdy white GIMME box with a gray insert.

Who Is GIMME Jewellery?

GIMME started in Australia in 2018 around a dining room table. Founder Lydia began by handmaking hair scarves and scrunchies. Over time it grew into a full jewelry line.

The brand showed a collection at New York Fashion Week. GIMME says its pieces have been worn by Oprah, Katy Perry and Alix Earle. Every product page lists its materials. Some pieces are gold plated stainless steel and sold as waterproof. Others have thick 18k gold plating over brass, and GIMME says to keep those away from water and perfume.

Why I Picked These

I picked the Lisa Puffy Heart Earrings for my 11 year old. The Tangled Chain Necklace was the one everyone wanted after Alix Earle wore it and it sold out. The Marquise Necklace and Sway Drop Earrings rounded out my four gold pieces.

The GIMME Tangled Chain Necklace Alix Earle Wore

This is the chain that sold out after Alix Earle was spotted in it. It has layered, interwoven links and a soft brushed finish. It’s 44cm long in 18k gold plated brass.

The Magnetic Clasp

The clasp is magnetic, and that’s what makes this one extra unique. Not every GIMME necklace has it, but the Tangled Chain Necklace does. It’s pretty cool. The magnet is strong, so you can jump around and not worry about it falling off.

GIMME Lisa Puffy Heart Earrings on My 11 Year Old

I picked these for my 11 year old, and they’re so cute on her. They’re 17mm hoops with a puffy heart that comes off. Take the heart off and you’ve got plain gold hoops. GIMME also sells other heart charms on its site, so you can swap in a different heart. That’s a fun thing about this collection.

A Week Straight of Wear

She wore them for a week straight. By the end, they felt a little heavy for her. GIMME lists each earring at 8.7g with the heart on. I think they should come off at night.

The closure is really strong. It was pretty hard to get them off, and I was worried I’d hurt her. Then again, you don’t have to worry about losing them. That’s good news for a family that’s always packing and unpacking.

A Note for Sensitive Ears

My daughter has sensitive ears. She can only wear titanium, gold and silver. These didn’t bother her until the weight got to her. GIMME lists the Lisa hoops as 14k gold plated stainless steel, hypoallergenic and nickel free. If you’re wondering whether these would hurt your ears, that was our experience.

The GIMME Marquise Necklace and Its Gold Tone

The Marquise Necklace (Small) has slender, marquise shaped links. GIMME designed the Marquise line for its New York Fashion Week collection. Country singer Ella Langley wore the larger version at Stagecoach. Mine is 35cm with a 10cm extender and a lobster clasp. I really like the pattern.

I was a little bummed to see that it doesn’t quite match the other gold in this collection. Next to the other three pieces, it has a slightly more orange tone. Matching gold is always tricky with jewelry, so it’s just something to know if you plan to wear them together.

GIMME Sway Drop Earrings for a Western Look

These are perfect for a western vibe. A polished oval stud spills into long gold chain fringe, about 7cm long. I really think they’re beautiful.

The backs are pretty hard to get on and off. For me, that’s a good thing, because I always lose earring backs.

What I’m Watching For

I don’t know yet how this jewelry will hold up to the elements. After a week of wear, my daughter’s earrings show no tarnish so far. Three of these four pieces are gold plated brass, though, and GIMME says to keep those away from water and perfume. On Oahu, that means salt air and humidity every day. So I’m watching for tarnish, how the Marquise color looks over time, and whether the earring backs stay this snug.

My Takeaway So Far

These are beautiful pieces, and I’d buy from GIMME again. We’ll keep wearing them, and I’ll update this post with a full review once we’ve had them long enough to give a real verdict.
