The Edit: Kinal is the restaurant inside Khaban Bacalar Hotel on Bacalar Lagoon, with some of the best lagoon views in Bacalar, and our family loved eating there all week. The menu covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, from chilaquiles and pancakes in the morning to guacamole, hummus, tacos, salads and surf ‘n’ turf later in the day, plus a tiramisu we highly recommend. The kids menu is limited but has a chimichanga and chicken nuggets with fries. Kinal has a full bar, Victor’s margaritas were perfect every time, and the Antiox juice was a favorite. If you order food you can use the pool and hotel amenities, which makes it a great budget way to enjoy lagoon time without staying at the hotel, so bring your bathing suit.

The Kinal Restaurant, located inside the Khaban Bacalar Hotel, offers some of the best views of the Bacalar Lagoon. Our family loved dining there all week. It’s a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy!

You can enjoy your meal under the main palapa roof dining area, or choose a table just outside by the pool, shaded with an umbrella. One of my favorite spots is the table under a large tropical tree right by the water’s edge—it’s such a peaceful spot!
You’re allowed to enjoy the amenities if you order food at the restaurant. It’s a great way to get in some pool and lagoon time if you’re on a budget and can’t stay at their hotel.
The menu has a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, you’ll find Mexican favorites like chilaquiles, plus classics like pancakes and more.

Lunch and dinner include tasty snacks like guacamole and hummus, while dinner has options like tacos, salads, and surf ‘n’ turf.
The kids’ menu is a bit limited, but they do offer options like a chimichanga and classic chicken nuggets with fries.
For dessert, they have an amazing tiramisu that we highly recommend—definitely worth a try!
Kinal has a full bar, so you can order just about any drink you want!

We tried the house specialties and a few others, and the margaritas by Victor were perfect every time. They also offer a great selection of smoothies and juices—the Antiox juice was a favorite for sure!
We think so. Kinal has some of the best views of Bacalar Lagoon, a menu that works for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a simple kids menu with a chimichanga and chicken nuggets. Our family ate there all week and never got bored.
For breakfast, try the chilaquiles or pancakes. Later in the day, the guacamole, tacos and surf ‘n’ turf are great, and save room for the tiramisu. Ask for a margarita from Victor or the Antiox juice.
Yes. If you order food at the restaurant, you are allowed to enjoy the pool and hotel amenities at Khaban Bacalar. It is a great way to get pool and lagoon time on a budget, so bring your bathing suit.
If you’re in the area or staying at the hotel and want a relaxed meal, Kinal Bacalar is a must. Plus, if you’re visiting, you can use the pool and hotel facilities—just remember to bring your bathing suit! We had a great time dining and unwinding by the lagoon and pool, which really adds to the vacation experience.
