Flying Space-A with Kids: New ID Rules Parents Need to Know

Flying Space-A with kids under 10? With new ID enforcement rolling out at AMC bases, it matters more than ever what kind of ID your kid has. Whether you’re retired military or a 100% total VA-rated vet, we’re breaking down what actually makes the most sense to get your under 10 year old.

If you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation.

  1. Darrien Clyne says:

    Good Morning
I would like to know how Space A work because in January 2027 I will try and use this travel journey to go different places. Do you also have like Accomodation list of where to stay and average prices. I am 100% P&T veteran. Thank you

    • Alex says:

Thanks for reaching out, and congrats on planning ahead for January 2027.

The best place to start is our ultimate military hops guide. It walks through how the whole system works, from eligibility and categories to signing up to what actually happens once you are standing at the terminal. From there, understanding flight schedules is the next piece, since knowing how to read the 72 hour schedule is what makes planning possible. Those two will get you a lot further than anything I could type out in a comment.

On lodging, we do not have a dedicated accommodation list or a price sheet right now. Prices swing quite a bit by base and by season, and our own needs change from trip to trip, so anything we published would be outdated pretty fast.

One thing that would help me point you in a better direction: where do you tend to fly, or where are you hoping to go? We have a ton of experience at a lot of terminals, so if you tell me the ones you are looking at, I can tell you what to expect there.
