What Is the Ambiance Like at Beach Club Blú Bacalar?
When we visited in August, the ambiance was calm and relaxed. The mellow background music added a touch of serenity without being overwhelming. Most visitors were sunbathing, lounging, or enjoying the lagoon, especially out by the pier.
While there were some energetic partygoers, they weren’t overly loud or disruptive. For families, this spot is perfect! The beach club features a giant chess set, kayaks, paddleboards, kids’ soccer, and a trampoline with netting. The overall vibe is laid-back and definitely kid-friendly!
What’s on the Menu at Beach Club Blú?
Beach Club Blú serves Mexican-inspired dishes centered around seafood, like tacos, tostadas, ceviches, aguachiles, and empanadas. For those who love fried foods, they offer French fries, potato wedges, and nuggets.
The standout items? Their burritos, which rival Mi Burrito Bacalar, and the fish and chips are absolute must-tries. Even without the lagoon’s breathtaking view, the food alone makes this beach club worth visiting!
Cocktails at Beach Club Blú
Beach Club Blú has a full bar to satisfy any craving. For the kids, we ordered mango smoothies made with fresh mango—absolutely refreshing!
For adults, we tried a mojito, a Michelada with Modelo Negro, and their signature Laguna Blú. Each drink was perfectly crafted, with great flavors and just the right amount of spirits. Whether you want something classic or unique, they’ve got you covered!

The vegetarian ceviches and soft roll are standout choices, while items like potato wedges, french fries, and guacamole from the appetizer section may also fit the bill. However, for those following a plant-based diet, it’s best to confirm with the kitchen staff to ensure the dishes meet your dietary needs. They’re marked on the menu so you can check that out.
The Service & Friendliness of the Staff at Beach Club Blú Bacalar
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed—starting with a greeting from the owner, which added a personal touch. As we walked through, we noticed the restrooms near the entrance, followed by a green turf soccer/game area, leading to the bar and lounge.
Our waiter was friendly and took the time to explain the entry fee system (more on that below). The service was quick, and the staff were bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently, with some also knowing Mayan. Their attentiveness and warm demeanor made the experience even better!

Entry costs for Beach Club Blú Bacalar is 500 MXN (~25 USD) for adults, with half credited toward food and the rest for access. Between being in the water and playing on their playground she honestly didn’t need a chair.
