You won’t miss the chance for a character meet here! Mickey, Minnie, and other favorite Disney characters decked out in Hawaiian attire are all over Aulani. These encounters are sprinkled throughout the property and promise unforgettable moments. The best part is that the lines to meet the characters go relatively quickly as this experience is offered multiple times a day and is only available to Aulani guests staying at the Hawaiian resort.

Pool Areas and Water Fun

Aulani Disney resort boasts several pools, water slides, and a lazy river. Each pool area offers a unique experience. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or aquatic adventures, you’ll find the perfect pool. There’s the Adults-Only Pool, Keiki Cove, Waikolohe pool stream, Ka Maka Grotto, and the Menehune Bridge to check out.

Ko Olina Beach Lagoon

The resort offers direct access to a stunning Hawaiian beach on part of the island of Oahu. Whether you’re building sandcastles with the little ones, taking leisurely strolls along the shoreline, or trying your hand at paddle boarding, the beach is your canvas for creating unforgettable moments.

Mickey Mouse Shaped Shave Ice

Treat your taste buds to the iconic Hawaiian Shave Ice at Papalua Shave Ice. Customize it with Mickey mouse ears for that touch of Disney Magic.

Rainbow Reef

Dive into the mesmerizing Rainbow Reef, Aulani’s saltwater lagoon. Snorkeling here is like embarking on an underwater adventure. The reef is teeming with colorful tropical fish, creating an enchanting viewing experience for all ages. Disney provides snorkeling gear with an experience to swim with the fish and explore this captivating world beneath the surface. This is for 8 years + though so Audrey just missed the opportunity to do it.

Get a taste of Hawaiian culture at Aulani’s Luau

Immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture with a visit to the KA WA’A luau at Disney’s Aulani resort. It’s one of the best things we did at Aulani with the kids. Enjoy delicious food, an open bar, and engaging cultural activities for the entire family.

The pre-show activities keep the kids busy and are super fun. Audrey and Addy loved learning how to play the ukulele and getting temporary tattoos. They even were able to make their own flower leis and try poi (Taro) after grinding it themselves.

The Lua had really good food options for the kids and the whole family enjoyed the buffet-style dinner.

Custom Ears

Get creative and design your own Mickey ears. It’s a fantastic family bonding activity, and you’ll leave with personalized souvenirs.

Aunties Beach House

This was Audrey’s Favorite Spot to hang out! They keep your kids busy with a room full of kids’ toys and crafts. If you’re not able to snag a time slot for your kids to enjoy Aunty’s beach house there’s also a free scavenger hunt to do! You’ll want to save at least an hour to do this as you’ll be going around the property finding all the locations Aunty sends you to.

• Balcony: Enjoy the serenity of your private balcony. Sip on Hawaiian coffee, watch mesmerizing sunrises, and create cherished family moments with a view. We snagged an aulani military discount rate and always get thrown in the back with a parking lot view, but even this view isn’t bad.
• Kitchenette Convenience: The inclusion of a kitchenette for the fancier rooms can be a game-changer. It allows you to prepare quick breakfasts and snacks, saving time and money for more adventures.
• Bathroom Oasis: The spacious bathroom is thoughtfully appointed, and the indulgent rainfall shower provides a luxurious touch after a long day.

Aulani Military Discount Room

If you want to stay in the military discounted room rate this is what you can expect in the standard tier. Below in the first video is the balcony view of the parking lot as described. The second video is a quick walkthrough of what the bathroom looks like.

Overall we enjoyed our Standard Room. The storage underneath the bed and the maid service leaving us little gifts made the stay with the kids feel fun & not feel overwhelming at all. We really were not in the room much. Although had we stayed longer than 3 days I think I would have opted for a Kitchen!

Ulu Cafe

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Ulu Cafe. The menu boasts a variety of options to please both young and mature taste buds. Don’t miss the island-inspired specialties! We loved the grab-and-go concept of this cafe and our mornings for the most part started here.

‘AMA’AMA

Elevate your dining experience with a visit to Ama Ama. This four-course dining gem offers locally inspired dishes and unforgettable ocean views. Live music in the evenings sets the perfect tone for a romantic dinner. We took our kids and they enjoyed the fun kids meals made for them.

• We snuck off to the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina. Alex and I enjoyed a sunset dinner and some super fun local cocktails. The Four Seasons shares the bay with the Disney Resort so it’s literally super close, we walked up the back and into the restaurant from the beach.

• Ko Olina Center: Just a short drive away, the Ko Olina Center offers a variety of restaurants and cafes. From sushi to pizza, there’s something for every palate.
• Costco: If you’re traveling on a budget or have specific dietary preferences, you can make a pit stop at Costco on your way in from the airport. It’s a convenient option to stock up on groceries and grab-and-go items.
