The beach club is one of the premier spots to hang out in the Puerta Cortes area of La Paz. It features a private club for the guests of Vista Mar and the Marina Coasta Baja. The ‘Beach Club’, for short, features everything needed for a luxurious day at the beach.

Where is the Beach Club 

Located within the Puerta Cortes Resort, the Blue Cortes beach club is nestled on the left side as you drive towards Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes. While its entrance may be subtle, golf cart parking is conveniently available nearby.

As you enter the beach club foyer you will be greeted with a nice view of cactus. If you are here during the right time of year you can catch the cactus bloom and enjoy their flowers. The girls love taking pictures here pretending they are supermodels in Baja. 

Exclusivity and Membership Perks

As we were marina customers for a long time we had the opportunity to visit the Blue Cortes Beach Club often. Having the club nearby was really great and made being on our sailboat much more enjoyable and dreamy than we ever imagined. 

If you are a customer of the properties located within the resort you will have access to the beach club. The places that give access include: Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés, Vistamar, Puerta Cortes Las Colinas. Membership is included with some locations while others have to pay a daily usage fee.

When to Visit the Beach Club

The beach club is open from 8 am to 8 pm daily. The restaurant serves breakfast until 11am/12pm and lunch starts thereafter. The kitchen stops serving lunch around 5 pm and it’s done for the day. The bar is open the entire day serving mimosas and micheladas in the morning. To whatever cocktails you’d like to enjoy in the afternoon into the evening.

We love to go to the beach club during the weekdays and earlier in the week to avoid the weekend crowd. During the weekend you could catch us at the beach on our sailboat or hanging with friends in town. If you want to know what our favorite beaches. 

The Restaurant and Bar

Indulge in a delicious breakfast and lunch menu at the beach club. With fresh, tasty ingredients, it offers an array of options, including favorites like French toast, omelets, and angus beef burgers satisfying your needs immensely. 

The restaurant and bar area boasts two large TVs, perfect for watching football games. They often feature playoff games, including the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL Super Bowl. Additionally, they regularly broadcast Liga MX soccer league matches during the tournament.

Kids Meals 

The menu hosts many items your kids will love. The French toast, pancakes, spaghetti and meatballs are some of the favorites they serve. They do have one of the best tasting burgers in the La Paz area. The potato wedges are cooked perfectly, being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. 

Blue Cortes Cocktails

The bar serves an assortment of mixed drinks and cocktails, perfect for enjoying by the beach. Don’t miss trying the flavorful micheladas and handcrafted margaritas. They’re a favorite of ours! The house margaritas here are so good crafted with fresh ingredients.

If you have never tried a Michelada, you have to order on here. It’s simply the best-mixed beer drink I have ever had, it’s so full of flavor and a foolproof way to decide if this drink is a new favorite for you. 

Recommended Dishes

Our favorite dishes at breakfast are the French toast and the omelet with a side of beans. Our favorite lunch options are the angus beef burgers and the enchiladas. If you order these items you will not be dissapointed. And you can’t forget the enmoladas if you are a mole fan and the club sandwich after a hard day at the pool. 

Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten-Free Options

The menu does not have these specific diet items listed on the menu. They have options that can be modified to meet your needs like the avocado toast that includes bacon and egg your way and a side salad, for example.  This can be easily modified to meet your needs.

Every time we have enjoyed the beach club the service has been great. They have tons of staff to help you with any request that you may have.

Amenities to Enjoy While Here

Beach Lounging and Pool Area

The club offers many places for you and your family to lounge. You can relax on the sand with the palapas and comfy teak lounge chairs. They do have cabanas for a more intimate approach to your beach outing.

All of the chairs on the beach section are blessed with a view of the turquoise blue water. They have subtle music coming from the outdoor rock speakers located around the beach areas to enlighten the mood. And they deliver drinks and food from the restaurant to your beach side location. 

The Included Pool

If your preference is to be by the pool area they have chairs and daybeds to enjoy for a day at the pool. 

The pool is a fun place to be. It has families enjoying the infinity pool in the shallow area or the deeper section of around 1.5 meters. The pool incorporates a fun blue mosaic pattern that soothes the eye and welcomes you to swim. 

Our most loved attributes of the pool is the hot tub and the wood lattice providing shade. During the winter the hot tub warms the bones up when the north winds are blowing the cold air down from the United States. 

The wooden lattice provides a nice semi shaded area in the pool so you can relax in the pool and not have to worry about getting sunburnt as fast without the shade. The coconut trees by the pool bring in the tropical feel along with a mango smoothie. 

Kid-Friendly Offerings

Children can enjoy the pirate ship playground, complete with lookout stations, slides, and swings. It’s a safe and entertaining space for them to have fun while parents relax nearby. You can also explore the private beach just below to collect sea shells and build sand castles. It’s a shallow beach making wading here easy. There’s also options to snag a rental to paddle board in the bay and check out the fish from above.
