Majagua has a great vibe overall. Every single time we have eaten here the quality & consistency of the service, food & atmosphere is the same amazing quality. If you’re planning a trip to La Paz we strongly recommend you add this restaurant to your list as you explore Costa Baja – Puerto Cortez in La Paz Mexico.
Majagua is a new luxury restaurant to the La Paz area and is one of the best restaurants we have experienced. We have eaten here since the day it opened at least over 20 times. Here’s why we love this restaurant!
In our 3 years of living and visiting Baja California, we have eaten at many places in La Paz. We also put together a Costa Baja Guide if you’re interested.
Location of Majagua Restaurant
Majagua Restaurant is located within Puerto Cortez and shares amenities with the Costa Baja Resort and Spa Property. They are nestled along the boardwalk and have beautiful views of the boats docked at the marina. The La Paz sunsets are gorgeous here.
What is the address to Majagua Restaurant
The address to Majagua is: Marina Costa Baja, Carretera Pichilingue KM 7.5 Pueblo Marinero, 23010 La Paz, B.C.S., Mexico.
How to get to Majagua Restaurant
Directions to Majagua Restaurant: It is located inside the gates of Costa Baja Resort and Spa. When you drive there you will let the gate guards know you are eating there. They will then take down your name and car license plate number and let you enter.
Here you will drive until you see your first stop sign. Then you will take a right into the first parking area. You can park in the public parking lots located here or continue to drive until you see the next parking area. The restaurant is located along the board walk area in between the two major parking lots.
Seating
There is indoor and outdoor seating available. All seating has views of the sunset and marina docks. Indoor seating is limited so during the hotter season you’ll want to reach out to them in advance or book a reservation online if you want to for sure have a table with air conditioning. Otherwise in the evenings after the sun goes down its comfortable with the fans and the light breeze. The marina usually cools down significantly where you’ll see more night life kick up after 6pm.
Majagua Menu & Food
Their Menu is offered in both Spanish and English. The portions for the food are slightly a little smaller than what you’d get in the United States, but when you add in sides it quickly becomes a perfect meal. Majagua dishes are packed with flavor and lean more towards an experience for your meal.
The consistency of the dishes are the same every time and the kitchen staff does a wonderful job there. Every dish looks like art and tastes very good. The menu here changes seasonally so you’ll find new items periodically to try.
Brunch at Majagua
The Brunch breakfast is new & great and has quickly became one of our favorites!
Majagua Kids Menu & Friendliness
We bring our kids almost every time. There’s a kids menu and they offer coloring sheets & crayons. The vibe is casual outdoors so there’s no pressure for formal dining. You have the ability to walk around and check out the Ciruela shop next door too.
Majagua Cocktails
The mixologist creates very good, beautifully crafted cocktails. They have their own mezcal brand here that is crafted from Jalisco Mexico.
The Mezcal comes from one of the employees family farms and the restaurant takes a lot of pride and joy in sharing it with you. It’s very special and I promise if you have never tried Mezcal before please making trying it here for the first time a priority. They do make a few of their signature cocktails with it too.
Majagua Ambience & Events
Overall the vibe here is upbeat and we always feel welcome. Decorated beautifully with copper and boho elements. It’s kid & family friendly too Sometimes they even have live music with various genres of music.
They feature local artists and bands, while also hosting events. They celebrate mexican and american holidays. You’ll want to check their Instagram or Facebook page to see if they will be hosting any events while you’re in La Paz. They’re really fun to enjoy here.
Majagua Service
The management also is great and they treat their staff like family. They care about their service and will sometimes ask for a survey to be completed. The staff is attentive and very friendly.
Recommended Dishes to try at Majagua
Cochinita Pibil Taco, Short Rib Taco, Organic Roasted Chicken, Sweet Potatoe Puree, Traditional French Fries. Honestly everything they make is made really well. Honestly anything from Chef Jose Angel Olivares has been amazing!
Majagua Vegetarian & Vegan Options
They offer vegetarian options. Our vegan friends and went for the Portobello Steak main course.
Majagua Sea to Table
They also will prepare your catch if you bring it to them to prepare for dinner. We got lucky one day on our way back into the marina and caught a Mahi. We asked if the restaurant would be able to prepare anything for us if we brought in half the fish and they made a fresh civiche and sashimi for us to enjoy.
Majagua Desserts
The desserts are good too! We recommend trying the brownies or churros! but again, everything is good so whatever you try will hit the spot!
