We stayed with our family of four at the Hyatt Regency Guam Resort & Spa for 7 nights. From the moment we arrived, the Hyatt Regency Guam greeted us with warmth and grandeur. The driveway led us to a magnificent lobby where a helpful bellman promptly guided us to the front desk. The friendly welcome from the front desk attendant set the tone for our fantastic stay.
We utilized reward nights (12,000 points a night) for the entire stay and a club access reward that included complimentary breakfast every morning. It also included evening Cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres for our entire family each night. We stayed here completely free and did not have to pay the resort fee. Learn more how you can do this too HERE
Stepping into the lobby, the soaring ceiling, stately pillars, and captivating birdcages instantly conveyed the essence of a grand premium resort. Surprisingly, those floral-filled birdcages turned out to be genuine, a delightful surprise during our stay as we witnessed a dedicated staff member caring for them daily.
Our room on the 10th floor offered a comfortable retreat with two beds, a desk area, a TV, a small fridge, and a balcony boasting mesmerizing views. The spacious bathroom featured a separate shower and a bath tub with windows that opened up to enjoy the ocean view from the tub while soaking. The private toilet area was equipped with a Japanese smart toilet leaving us with a warm toilet seat and an option to use the bidet if we wanted to.
The only thing the room lacked was a clothesline in the bathroom. The balcony served as a convenient drying spot for swimsuits. We did end up also doing our own laundry in the room. The prices for each piece of laundry otherwise was pretty expensive. The room did get damp towards the end of our stay. I think this was because of the air conditioning unit running constantly. We were able to request a dehumidifier for our room that helped with the dampness and also helped with drying the clothes in our room.
Venturing to the pool area, we were greeted by a super friendly lifeguard who provided arm bands and pool towels. The pool itself, with its two water slides and multiple pool areas adorned with waterfalls, provided a refreshing and relaxing escape. We indulged in poolside snacks and iconic Mai Tais from the Breezes bar, starting our Guam adventure on a high note.
They gave us 4 pool cards for each person. We had to present at the pool counter daily for a wristband and towel. If the towel was not returned, these cards were $10 USD to replace. The wristbands changed colors daily.
8 am – 9 pm each day.
There’s a number at each seating area so when you’re ready to order drinks or food you have to go to the the Breezes Bar stand. You can charge to your room or pay there. Remember to tell them if you’re a World of Hyatt member or a Military Member as they apply the discount then and there. Here you will give them your number to where you are sitting and they will bring the food and drinks to you when ready.
The discovery of parrots on the property added a unique charm to our stay. Four cages housing red, green, and blue macaws, along with a separate cage for cockatoos, intrigued us. The scheduled display of these colorful birds in the lobby from 3-5 pm was a highlight, making this Hyatt the only one in the world to host and showcase parrots.
Adjacent to the pool, the beach boasted soft, white sand reminiscent of paradises like La Paz, Mexico and Moorea, French Polynesia. The historical touch of an old Japanese pillbox from World War 2 added an intriguing element to the scenic view.
Our club reward granted access to the Regency Club Lounge—a serene setting with panoramic views of Tumon Bay. From 5-8 pm, the lounge offered unlimited drinks, a tapas bar, delectable desserts, and a children’s room with colorful dining and toys. It was an ideal spot to savor a sunset with a drink and enjoy a delightful night snack.
The buffet breakfast at Cafe Kitchen was a delight for the whole family. With a plethora of options including breakfast burritos, bibimbap, salad bar, patisserie treats, and various beverages, it set the perfect tone for a vibrant morning. Early visits ensured a seamless entry and a delightful breakfast experience.
For guests arriving by car, the Hyatt Regency Guam offers a complimentary parking garage—a fantastic perk we took full advantage of during our stay. This amenity provided seamless access and convenience for our rental car, allowing us to explore Guam at our own pace without any parking hassles. The accessibility of the parking garage added to the overall ease and comfort of our experience at the resort.
