Plenty of people on TikTok wonder, can you see who viewed your tiktok profile? And yes, you can! It’s an understandable question to have since TikTok is a relatively new social app and quite different from other social media platforms like Instagram or Facebook. In this blog post we’ll show you exactly how to find out who has been looking at your TikTok profile, but there are some things to know first!
What you need to know
There are two things you need to know about being able to see who viewed your TikTok profile.
Firstly, your profile needs to be public. TikTok will only show you your profile views if you have the profile view history on in your privacy settings! This feature only works if your account is a public one. However! The person viewing your profile also has to have a public account + profile view history on.
If you or the other person don’t have these features on, you cannot see who viewed your profile nor can other people see that you viewed theirs. Need a tutorial on how to turn this feature on? We have that just below!
How to turn on profile view history on Tiktok
Step by step reading instructions
- Step one: Go to your account and click the three horizontal lines on the right side of your profile/account
- Step two: On the drop down menu click “Settings and privacy” at the bottom
- Step three: Click on “Privacy”
- Step four: Click on the “Private account” button, it should turn grey
- Step five: Click “Switch” to enable a public TikTok account!
- Step six: Go back to the “Settings and privacy” page and scroll down until you see the “profile views” button
- Step seven: Click on “Profile views” at the bottom of the page
- Step eight: Turn on “Profile view history”, it should become blue once successfully turned on!
- Step nine: New exit out and go back to your account/profile page!
Now when people view your profile you’ll be able to click on the little feet prints in the corner and see exactly what accounts have viewed it in the last thirty days! Remember, though, that with this feature on people will be able to see that you viewed their profile too.
Another way to see your TikTok profile views
Another thing you need to know is that you won’t be able to see who has viewed your profile ( even if your account his public and the aforementioned settings are enabled) if you have 5,000 or more followers on TikTok. TikTok removes this option for accounts with a following of 5,000 and higher to protect larger audience’s privacy. BUT! There is another feature you can utilize to see your profile views in a different way!
TikTok shows you specific accounts that have viewed your profile after you have turned on your profile view history and set your account to public, however, this feature is stripped from users after they reach 5,000 followers. So, instead, you can switch your account into a “Creator” account. Need a tutorial on how to do this? Click this link to check out our simple, step by step guide!
Creator account vs a normal account
If you switch your account to a creator account you will be able to utilize TikTok’s analytics. These wont let you see the exact accounts viewing your profile, but they will let you see how many profile views you receive day, as well as general demographic, country, etc. This feature is free and available to everyone with a creator account!
