Things to See at SpringHill Suites by Marriott
We searched many Moab hotels and stayed here because it is a newly built hotel. We wanted to try out a Marriott property for a change. The hotel is about 3 miles from the center of town. It looked well-decorated and interesting online.
The thing that caught our eye was the pool area giving me the movie cars vibes. The pool area had waterfall features that looked like the red rocks in the distance. They had a toss bean bag game and plenty of lounge areas at the pool and a few hot tub areas. Making the hotel look pretty promising for a family of four to say at.
Room Type Selection at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott
We selected the room with double queen beds. This room included a lounge area with a large tv acomompaning a desk below the tv and a couch with a coffee table.
The room included a small kitchenette area with a coffee maker and fridge. It did not include a cooking device, we used this area to store our bags so they were not in the way. We did not utilize the large storage closet by the window for some reason.
The bathroom was very spacious and included a toilet in a separate private area of the bathroom. This area included the showering area as well. This was a large and spacious room for a family of 4. We did enjoy our time here but I don’t know if I would be back.
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Moab Reviews and Amenity Specifications
Free Wi-Fi Speed: 3 out of 5 stars. Wi-Fi was average for the price of free.
Early Check-in & Baggage Holding Available: We did not use this service.
Wall Sockets for Charging: There are plenty of sockets by the beds and the desk area, international travelers will need a proper adapter to use the USA socket.
Bed, Sheets, and Furniture Comfort Level: 4 out of 5 stars. Bed sheets are always soft and comfortable at Marriott properties. The bed comfort was as expected because we stayed here when the hotel was newly opened.
Water Pressure & Water Temp: 3 out of 5 stars. Standard water pressure and hotness level. I love a really hot shower around 120 degree water temp. This water may have gotten to 95 degrees fahrenheit.
Shuttle Service: n/a
Customer Service: 1 out of 5 stars. We were located with a view of the pool area. We complained about the noise level and nothing was done about it.
Bell & Maid service: 4 out of 5 stars
Customer Complaint Resolution Experience: 1 out of 5 stars. They never resolved the issue and did not even enforce the rules the hotel had set for the guest. For this reason we will be staying somewhere else in the Moab area.
Where to Eat at SpringHill Suites by Marriott
There is currently no on site restaurant for this property but breakfast is included.
There happened to be a convention the day we stayed so breakfast in the morning was very busy. The staff kept up with replenishing the hot and cold items fairly well by surprise.
The breakfast included the normal continental breakfast items. The hot items included waffles, eggs, sausage and oatmeal. The cold items included hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast and jam. After the craziness that breakfast was, we headed out for the day to explore Arches National Park.
They did have hot water, hot caffeinated coffee and decaf. The juice machine was working and dispensed your standard concentrated Minute Maid juice. Nothing special about breakfast but it got the day going.
Nearby Dining Options
El Tapatio: Surprise, we are at another Mexican restaurant. You would think, aren’t they tired of Mexican food and the answer is never! I love trying different Mexican spots to see the twist they put on the food based on the location.
The owner is super nice and his family is from the Chiapas area if I remember correctly. The margarita tasted good with fresh lime juice and the tecate beer was cold. Can’t get any worse than that.
The tacos were great and served on white corn tortillas. The enchiladas were approved by Amanda, one of her favorite dishes to eat. Our family ate here 2 times because we liked the vibe and the food at El Tapatio.
The Best Time to Visit & Things to Know About Visiting
The best time to visit SpringHill Suites by Marriott and the national parks in the area is best in the slow season. The slow season is during the winter months and during the hottest months like August and September. During these times of the year should give you a more relaxing experience and more peace and quiet.
One thing we were not aware of is the pool is not heated during the winter months. The water features do not run during this time at the pool either. The kids were kinda bummed because they were excited to run around the pool area but with frigid water in the pool killed the mood.
During the first night, party goers were making noise in the pool area after the noise curfew time of 10 pm. It echoes pretty well throughout the pool area especially at night. Our room was overlooking the pool area on the 4th floor and they woke us all up after a long day at the national park.
I would not be on that side of the hotel building ever again. And the best part is the staff did nothing about enforcing the rules of the hotel.
Should I stay here to see multiple attractions in Moab, Utah with my family?
Other than the noise and busy morning breakfast we had a good time at the Marriott property. The hotel is a good place to stay while visiting Arches National park and Canyonlands National Park. I would suggest requesting a room on the parking lot side to potentially avoid the excess noise created in the pool area. This is one of the best places to stay near Moab, Utah for families because of the pool and room amenities.
